CORVANE

We are Corvane, an independent studio that raises websites, brands and products built to outlast the season. Every project is a monument: planned, carved and left standing.

I · The manifesto

Built to outlast the season.

The Romans laid roads straight, drained marshes and set stones so well that some of them are still carrying traffic. We try to do the same for the web.

Corvane is a studio of six in Turin. We design and build websites, brands and products, and we treat each one as a monument: planned on paper, carved carefully and left standing for a long time.

II · The Forum

Every project has a place on the map.

We lay out our work like a Roman forum: temples for brands, roads for logistics, an arena for anything that sells tickets. Hover a number to find out what stands there.

Plan of the Forum · 8 monuments · scale 1 : 400

Gold lines: roads · Red roofs: temples · Ring: the arena

III · The Mint

Eight projects, struck as coins.

Each project is minted as a coin with its number, its name and its monument. Drag the rail or scroll sideways to see them all.

IV · The method

How a monument is built.

Four stages, always in this order. Scroll and watch the temple rise as each stage is signed off.

We walk the ground first: your customers, your rivals, your existing site and the people who will keep it running. By the end we know what the building is for.

Foundation

Sitemap, content model and design principles are set in stone before anything is drawn. It is dull work and it holds up everything after it.

VII · The senate

Six voices, one vote each.

Every decision at Corvane is made by the people who will do the work. Meet the senate: the busts are staying put, the people are not.

VIII · The inscriptions

What clients carve about us.

Kind words, cut in stone. Every quote is from a real project in the index, with permission and a fictional name.

I

They asked better questions in the first meeting than our last agency did in a year.

Checkout used to be our biggest complaint. Now nobody mentions it, which is the best review.

IX · The cohorts

Three cohorts, one standard.

Like a legion, we work in cohorts that each carry their own standard. Together they cover everything a project needs, from the first sketch to the last line of code.

XI · Questions

Asked at the gate.

Six things people ask before they hire us. If yours is not here, send a messenger and we will answer within a working day.

I

How long does a monument take?

II

Do you work with small teams?

III

Who owns the work?

IV

Can my team edit the site ourselves?

V

What if we need changes after launch?

VI

How do you handle feedback?

XII · Send a messenger

Tell us what to build.

Write two lines about the project and your date. A real person replies within one working day, with a plan and a price range.
